Find out where and when falls are most likely to occur and what circumstances can increase an older person’s risk of falling. Danger arises from confusion, new medications, wandering, agitation and new environments. Walkers, canes, wheelchairs, or cleaning supplies left in obstructive locations can become threatening obstacles. Being able to see and hear prevents falls, this means eyeglasses and hearing aides must be in working condition and worn.
